The good man story will take you back to another time, a much simpler time. It was a time when the church was at the heart of a small community. Today the small town churches and ethnic communities are going away. Instead of many small congregations, we have mega churches. It is happening in all denominations.
Most times when we go to someone’s funeral, we share and celebrate a person’s life on earth. While we do not truly know a person’s heart or relationship with God, we have an idea by noting how they lived their lives. We always hope for the best for the soul, and our consolation comes in this bible verse.
John: 10-14
I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me.
This good man worshiped God by going to church and listening to the pastor. Today we, the laity, are needed to tell others about how God has shown His face in our lives. As in this story, when the end finally comes, perhaps there will be a special sign. The question is, will we share it to strengthen and lead others to a stronger belief in Christ or are we going to keep it to ourselves.
Today’s blog post is to introduce The Good Man story. It is newly posted on the On My Way website under the New Life tab.
