This story is about the experience of confession while on a pilgrimage to Israel. It was memorable not only because of the location, but the insight received on God’s appreciation of my efforts to seek his help.
Confession is always a tricky subject, but it can be a positive experience, when you speak with the Lord about your weakness whether through a confessor or in private prayer. A weight is lifted and peace follows.
I think the Lord brought this story to mind to convey how important it is to Him to bring our weaknesses to Him for forgiveness. It is humbling because we face the fact that we confess the same sins over and over, only to finally realize we need some Spiritual help to overcome our human weaknesses. He in turn gives us the grace, love and strength to come into a closer relationship with Him.
